Seasoned Moms
A virtual group series for moms who are 1+ year postpartum
Six week virtual series
Next series starts Fall 2022
Matrescence, similar to adolescence, is the profound internal transformation - physical, emotional, social, economic and existential - that a mother experiences as they become a mom and journey through motherhood. I believe the knowledge of matrescence has the power to transform your experience of motherhood.

Are you a first time mom who’s 0-12 months postpartum? My Early Postpartum program will be a better fit for you.
There’s very little support for moms beyond the first year postpartum, and most moms end up navigating major transitions alone. This means that many people:
Have difficulty reconciling their motherhood expectations with the realities they live.
Have mixed feelings about their role as mothers.
Are worried about being a “good mother” and doing things “right.”
Are juggling the roles of mother, paid worker and household manager.
Bear the burden of an unequal division of labour at home, or bear entirely the burden of labour at home.
Have significant unmet needs, such as sleep and alone time.
Feel like they’re not doing enough and are struggling to keep up.
While there are thousands of books and courses on parenting, almost all of them focus on the child’s well-being, not the mother’s.
At the heart of this program is your experience as a mother: how you are feeling, transitioning, learning and growing. This is matrescence, the developmental process of becoming a mother.
This program will explore your unique experience of motherhood. We’ll:
Explore matrescence and what has shifted and is shifting within you physically, psychologically, socially, economically and existentially.
Define who you are now and what you want in life, including your values and priorities.
Explore the cultural assumptions of motherhood that you’re carrying and how they impact your individual experience of motherhood.
Acknowledge your needs and understand what gets in the way of caring for yourself.
Receive practical tools to manage your thoughts and emotions in times of overwhelm, stress, or frustration.
Practice shifting from self-criticism to self-compassion.
This program is one of education, self-reflection and community.
It’s for you if:
You want to be open and honest about your experiences without fear of judgment.
You want to develop a deeper connection to yourself, understanding who you are right now and what matters to you.
You want to prioritize your own needs and also understand the barriers to doing so.
You want to manage your thoughts and emotions, rather than be controlled by them.
You are ready to let go of comparison, expectations, guilt, and feeling like you’re never doing enough.
You are ready to feel your self-worth, value, and power as a mother.
You want to define motherhood on your own terms, and live a life in alignment with your values.
You want to be amongst an intimate group of other mothers who yearn for the same.
Anyone who identifies as a mother is welcome to join this program. This is a safe space for members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and for adoptive, foster, and biological parents.
